About Us.

Our history.

The Ferry Inn (now The Mayquay) is situated on the west side of the Foryd, the original Ferry Inn was demolished many, many years ago, the current building is the third inn to be erected on the same site.

The first Ferry Inn was washed away during a high tide and replaced with the second inn which was much smaller than the first, rebuilt in 1901 and was also used as court rooms available for coroners to hold special inquests.

Today.

The Mayquay is a very friendly seaside pub, situated close to the beautiful Sandy Cove beach, awarded the best beach in 2019 and is also next to the new, spectacular Pont-y-Ddraig pedestrian/cycle bridge.

Kinmel Bay is perfectly situated to explore many of the wonderful sites and scenery that North Wales has to offer.

If you need refreshments after a day at the seaside, our bar has an excellent selection of premium drinks including cask, Welsh cider, cocktails, milkshakes, flavoured gins and vodka. We also have an extensive alcohol-free range.
